One less thing to decide

What's for dinner? Already answered.

Scan your grocery receipt and Salvie takes it from there. It already knows what's in your kitchen, so when it's time to eat, it just tells you what to cook — no scrolling recipe sites, no staring into an open fridge, no decision to make.

How it works

Three steps, and the kitchen runs itself.

01

Scan the receipt

Point the camera at your grocery receipt. Salvie reads it, works out what each line actually is, and sorts it into fridge, pantry, freezer or dry goods — with a sensible expiry date already filled in.

02

Your pantry keeps itself honest

Things get eaten without being logged — so Salvie tracks how sure it is. Items you haven't confirmed in a while fade and get a question mark instead of quietly pretending they're still there.

03

Cook what you already have

Ask for dinner and Salvie ranks real recipes by what your pantry can already cover — the ones needing nothing at all first, the almost-there ones after.

What it does

Built around the food you already bought.

Expiry

Nothing forgotten at the back of the fridge

Every item carries a colour-coded countdown — fresh, use soon, use today. One daily nudge tells you what is about to turn, and what you could cook with it instead.

Shopping list

Buy what's missing, not what you already have

Salvie builds the list from the pantry itself — what ran out, what is about to expire, what a recipe still needs. Tick things off as you go; they land back in the pantry.

Diets

Filters that actually hold

Vegan, vegetarian, gluten-free and dairy-free rule recipes out entirely — they never sneak back in further down the list. Higher-protein or lower-carb preferences just shuffle the order.

Languages

Danish pantry, Brazilian recipe

Salvie speaks English, Danish and Brazilian Portuguese — and matches across them. Write "kylling" in your pantry and a recipe calling for chicken still finds you.

Recipes

Ranked by what your pantry can already cover

Ask for dinner and Salvie sorts real recipes into two groups: the ones you can cook right now with nothing missing, then the ones a single item short. It understands that chicken breast counts as chicken, that tomato is not tomato paste, and that a recipe missing its fish is not really a suggestion.

Recipes come from publishers who wrote them. Salvie keeps the practical facts — ingredients, timings, dietary flags — and sends you to the original page for the method, so the people who did the cooking and the writing get the visit.

Privacy

A receipt says a lot about you. We treat it that way.

Your receipt is not kept

The photo is read once to pull out the groceries, then it is gone. We never write receipt images to disk, and nothing is kept to train anything.

No ads, no trackers

There is no advertising, no analytics SDK and no third-party tracker in the app. Nobody is profiling your shopping, and your data is never sold or rented.

Leaving takes one tap

Delete your account from inside the app and everything goes with it — pantry, saved recipes, preferences, the lot. No email thread, no waiting period.

The full detail — every category of data, every processor, every retention period — is in the Privacy Policy.

About Salvie

Most food gets thrown away by people who meant to cook it.

You shop with good intentions. Then the week happens — a late meeting, a takeaway, a plan that changed — and by Sunday the spinach has gone, half the fridge is a mystery, and you buy the same things again.

Salvie is built for that, not for perfect kitchens. It asks almost nothing of you: no weighing, no logging every meal, no meal plan you'll have abandoned by Thursday. Scan the receipt on the way home and the pantry mostly looks after itself.

It also tries to be honest about what it doesn't know. Food gets eaten without being logged, so Salvie lets its own certainty fade — an item you haven't confirmed in a while goes quiet and asks rather than insisting it's still there.
